I posted this question in another forum, but I can't find it, and so cannot tell what others have said. I asked if other men own dildoes, I'm not sure I would use it but the thought of owning one is very sexy to me. My experience is limited so I would like to know about what men think regarding this. I am thinking about buying a gel type but am worried it might be to soft to use.

I do indeed own a dildo. I like anal both ways, and this is how I can get it in a monogamous relationship with my wife. (I know it's not the same, but it does ok for now.) Plus, we both find it very erotic when I "practice" sucking it.
Mine is a gel type and is a lot better to feel than hard plastic. It's plenty hard enough to use but not so hard as to feel unnatural. We've tried a "butt plug" type but the point just gives me pain and it feels really unlike a man. We chose one that's a little smaller than I am; it's comfortable for me with my gag reflex and small enough in diameter to go anally easily.

Just remember guys, especially if sharing one. THEY NEED TO BE STERILISED. That means boiling water for fifteen minutes or scrubbed down with bleach. Depending on the material bleach will probably break them down.

My wife used to have a rubber penis (around 7" or 8" long and arond 7" in circumference, as I remember). I own quite a variety of dildoes. Some vibrate, some don't. My favorite is a very thin shafted one with one of those eggs on the end. It hits the right spot. I don't use the vibration all of the time. I like the life sized new material also. They are more realistic. Like anything it takes practice to get good at it. Be careful not to fall asleep with one in, it can do damage. Those Clorox wipes are good for cleaning. Chad, vibrating

I have done oral on a dildo and a viberator, not really my thing, for practice to deep throat I use a banana, with skin and smoothed but prefer peeled ones, I can take it in nicely and even gag but hold it in. I have been practicing.
I feel dildos are too hard to practice on; a soft penis works better.
